On behalf of Louisiana Women Veterans, we would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Denise R. Boutte', U.S. Air Force veteran. We salute her for her service to our country and we honor her with this poem:
She is a woman veteran
Whose service was true
She proudly served
The Red, White and Blue
She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
And without any hesitation
She joined unselfishly
She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside
We're proud today to know
That although she is gone
She goes on to glory
After a job "well done!"
And so, "Our Dear Sister"
We salute you today,
A special Airman laid to rest
In this quiet, solemn way.

Avants Women Veterans of Louisiana offers our prayers, along with those of a grateful nation, for the sacrifice your loved one has made in service to this country. Please know that the prayers of so many people are with you and your wonderful family. We hope that you can find some solace in knowing that your loss is shared so deeply by those of us who've served. She is that young woman who served, got out, and went on about her life and raised her family. That graying 20-year-in-service veteran as well as that 18-year-old who volunteered to serve knowing we were at war and was willing to die. All deserve to be remembered and honored for their service, regardless of when and where they served. There's one common denominator that all veterans share. The flag over their coffin. Your loved one's service will never be forgotten. Keep her in your heart and always cherish the service she provided for all of us to live comfortably and enjoy our beautiful country. Please accept our sincere condolences and know that we stand ready to support your family in this time of loss.
With deepest sympathy, WOMEN VETERANS OF LOUISIANA
