Denise Gregson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 13 to Sep. 14, 2008.

Nov. 6, 1955 - Sept. 11, 2008

No services are planed for Denise Gregson, 52, of Coos Bay, who died Sept. 11, 2008, in North Bend. She was born Winifred Denise Buselmeier on Nov. 6, 1955, in Schnectady, N.Y., the daughter of Carlene and Rudy Buselmeier.

Winnie moved with her family to the Coos Bay area in 1957, and graduated from North Bend High School in 1973. As a young girl, she showed much talent as a dancer. Winnie danced in Little Theatre on the Bay and Sawdust Theatre productions in her teenage years.

She graduated from business college in Eugene and was recruited by the CIA and moved East. She spent her career working in the Washington, D.C. area and in Florida, where she was known as Wendy and, later, Denise.

She returned to Oregon in the 1990s with her second husband, Robert Gregson, and together they opened Gregson's Restaurant in North Bend.

Winnie is survived by her mother, Carlene Willard; sister, Christine (C.Z.) Anderson; ex-husband, Robert Gregson; and nieces, Tracie Hacker and Tristin Andersen.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ron Reifsteck; and her father, Rudy Buselmeier.

Correspondence to the family can be sent to P.O. Box 435, North Bend, OR 97467. The family suggests memorial contributions to a church on one's choice; South Coast Hospice, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420; or a local chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Arrangements are under the direction of North Bend Chapel, 756-0440.

Was so sorry to hear about Winnies passing. We had gone to North Bend High school together and graduated together but had lost touch through the years. My thoughts and my prayers are with you.

Carlene, Chris & kids,
I was so shocked to see of Win's passing in the paper. My heart hurts for all of you at this time of her loss.
I have special memories of a lot of fun things we did together when she lived in Eugene on Willamette Street. Win was like a big sister to me at that time. She was a vibrant person with a great deal of talent. And I am sure that she is missed by many. Please know that I am truly sorry to hear of her loss.

I knew Denise for only a short time.
I worked with her and found her to be a lovely, vibrant, intelligent and fun person. She had sooo much going for her! I feel so sad that her life was cut short. No one will ever know what was in the heart and mind of this special, talented young lady, but I know she will live forever in the hands of God. My heart goes out to her Mom Carlene, who was a special friend to my Mom "Dottie"

We are so sorry to read of your loss in The World online. We are in Denmark now with our daughter, Jill, but will be home soon. We enjoyed working with Denise on Jill's wedding. She was a great person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
