What I remember most about Dennis was that he was a great friend to my sister, Kathy. She ran at Glendale Community College with the guys because at that time, there wasn't a women's team. I loved going to see her practice or compete and Dennis was always very supportive of her. He also liked joking around and making us laugh, always with a twinkle in his eye. RIP, Dennis. I look back fondly on those childhood memories.

Dennis was instrumental in helping me get my first job at Athletes Foot in Metro Center Mall. I remember him being a bit of a goofy guy who loved to talk himself up. He was always this confident sort of cocky dude that more than often backed it up. He used to come out to Glendale Community College in the late 70's and run with us from time to time. I remember road racing against him many times and never beat him. I always had respect for him and looked up to him. I believe he also won the Mexicali Marathon twice. His passing is a reminder to live every day like it is your last. I hope his legacy lives on through Ethan in part. RIP Dennis.
