DENNIS ERVIN GREEN
July 8, 1935 ˜ December 13, 2020

Dennis was born to Ervin and Irene Green July 8, 1935, in Benedict, NE. He moved to Vancouver, WA, in 1943.
He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1952. Dennis served in the U.S. Army Field Artillery as an M65 atomic cannon (Atomic Annie) crew member from 1954-1956. Dennis was married to Carol Dick from 1958-1971. He was married to Beverly Matta (Johnson) from 1976 until her death in 2019.
Dennis worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crew for many years. After retirement, Dennis and Beverly enjoyed several years of wintering in Arizona and summering in Vancouver. Later, they enjoyed clamming and other elements of coastal life at their vacation home on the Long Beach, WA, peninsula. Dennis attended New Heights Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; both parents; and twin sister, Deanne Irene DeVilliers (Green).
Dennis is survived by his son, Michael D. Green of Vancouver; daughter, Kerry L. Jones (Green) of Marlow, OK; stepsons, Alan Matta of Seaview, WA, Russ Matta of Ridgefield, WA; stepdaughter, Kathryn Tillotson of Suquamish, WA; 15 grandchildren, over 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family gratefully thanks the staff and management of Glenwood Place for their loving care of Dennis over the past two years.
A graveside service will held Monday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations in Dennis’s honor may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America at PVA.org" target="_new" rel="nofollow">PVA.org.
