Dennis Dale "Denny" Hendrix, 74, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 12:44 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 in his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565 with Rev. Robert Dillingham officiating.  Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals.

Denny was born on April 1, 1949, in Decatur, IL, the son of Bernard and Ruby (Robinson) Hendrix.  He graduated from Monticello High School in the Class of 1967 and then earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Illinois State University.  He married Mary Louise (Medaris) Hendrix on June 4, 1984 in Monticello, IL.   Denny served as the comptroller for P & H Manufacturing in Shelbyville, where he began working in 1988.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.  Denny enjoyed spending time with his family and faithfully attended the activities of his children and grandchildren.  He loved the Shelbyville community and it was reflected in his quiet generosity.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Scott Hendrix (Kelly) of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer Hendrix of Phoenix, AZ, John Paul Hendrix of Milmine, IL, Ryan Hendrix (Krista) of Shelbyville, IL and Molly King (Kory) of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Terry Hendrix of Monticello, IL; grandchildren, Mikayla Hendrix, Alana Hendrix, Truman Hendrix, Samantha Hendrix Westrich (Ben), Shelby Hendrix (fiancé, Sam Bricker), Kelsey Beck (Zach), Kyle Stauder, Emma Stauder, Chase Hendrix, Rowdy King and Rylee King; and great grandchildren, Jackson Beck and Jaycee Beck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Connie Hendrix.
