Dennis HUMPHREY Obituary
Peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Beloved partner of Franca. Father of Esrom. Survived by his sisters Sylvia, Desiree (Lloyd), Debra, nieces, and nephews, George Jr, Yolanda, Kelsey, Tyefia, Denise, Sulay, Channelle, Abigail, Allistair as well great-nieces and nephews Junior, Michaela, Mila, and Lloyd. Fondly remembered by his two aunts Elsa and Stella. A special thank you to the Ottawa Hospital General campus staff of 6 West and to all loving and supporting family and friends. Family will receive friends at the Pinecrest Visitation Center (2500 Baseline road Ottawa) on Friday, March 16th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 17, at Holy Cross Church ( 685 Walkley Road) at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.colefuneralservices.com

Just found out about the passing of Dennis after a recent visit to Ottawa. I am saddened by the loss of a true optimist. Thank you Dennis for always encouraging me to strive for the best. You gave me many inspirational moments. Thanks for your friendship over the years at PWGSC.

It was with great sadness that I was informed of Dennis' passing while on a short visit to Guyana. As teamates and school boys in 1967, we were part of a special group put together by a special coach. Death always brings sadness, but my memories of our friendship will always be of laughter and fun. Rest in peace my team mate and friend.

We know that nothing can easily minimize your loss or grief, but time, love and faith will heal broken hearts caused by Dennis' sudden passing.
The December-Lovell Family share fond memories of a son, a brother, an uncle and good friend. Dennis was an exceptional human being. As a family we were blessed with the privilege of adding him to our family circle. We experienced Dennis' serious side, his spiritual side, and like many others enjoyed the infectious signature smile and laughter he carried in his heart and on his face. Dennis was a Prince among people, young and old enjoyed his company. Dennis you have been an awesome son to Mom, and a true brother to the rest of us. Life will not be the same without you. Mom will miss your Sunday Visits and your laughter that lit up her world.
Dennis though we are saddened by your transition from time to eternity, we stand knowing God knew the plan he had for your life. You fought a good fight you had no control over the outcome. You gave what you knew how to offer to enrich and touch our lives here and we will be forever grateful. As we continue to grieve your absence from this realm we know you have been taken to a higher realm.
Dennis, your soul shall rest in peace; till we meet again!

We were so sad to hear of Dennis' passing. He was a wonderful neighbour. He always made time to stop on his way home from work, have a chat and share a joke and maybe even a beer! He was a lovely man and we will miss him.

I have a faint recollection of Dennis while I was at NIS.
In those days we did have a very large staff.
Anytime I hear or read of the passing of an NIS
former staff, I relive my days at NIS and the
great importance it was to Guyana.
It still is but we were the pace setters then.

A few years ago I saw Dennis at one of my relatives funeral, and saw him again at Place du Portage and I took the opportunity of introducing myself to him. To my surprise, he told me that he knew all of my family. Everytime we crossed each other path after that, we would say hello. He always had a kind word to say about my brother and would ask how I am doing. I will miss his smile and his kind words. R.I.P
