Dennis Keith Kirk Sr.

Dennis Keith Kirk Sr., age 74, of Sykesville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at home. Born October 15, 1946, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Frederick A. Kirk and Thelma M. Eitemiller Kirk. He was the loving husband of Linda Ann Heacock Kirk who he married on September 5, 1964. Denny retired from Verizon as a Telephone Lineman after 34 years of service. He was known for his sense of humor and contagious smile. Denny loved people and made friends wherever he went, and made everyone in his presence feel special. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Denny was a very gifted and talented man, with many hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, woodworking and metalworking, but especially his passion for restoring and collecting cars. He got a lot of pleasure from bird-watching--he loved his bluebirds, hummingbirds, finches and purple martins. He was retired for over 20 years allowing him to enjoy these many interests. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles R. Kirk. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Kimberly A. Logue and her finance, Trenton P. Kibler; son and daughter-in-law D. Keith Kirk, Jr. and Kimberly E. Kirk; brother Frederick H. Kirk and wife Karen McCoy and grandchildren: Brandon M. Logue, Alexander V. Logue, Erika N. Logue, Lorin E. Hoover, Luke T. Hoover and Shannon E. Kirk. Denny had countless extended family and friends that visited regularly, helped care for, and were extremely loving and supportive throughout his illness. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
