Denny died 09/03/2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice House after a long battle with cancer. He was born on 10/10/1947 the son of Ralph and Arlene (Krantz) Loy In Waterloo, Iowa. He is survived by his best friend Rozie Christy, brothers Jesse (Heather), Mike, Pat (Lisa), nieces Sedona, Hannah, Sara and nephew Zachary. He was educated in Waterloo and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1965. He served in the United States Marines as an Air Traffic Controller and after his honorable discharge he continued that profession into his civilian life in Olathe, Kansas. When he returned to Cedar Falls he became a 911 dispatcher for Black Hawk County where he recently retired. Denny lived a full and productive life as a son, brother, uncle and best friend. He loved the outdoors, golfing, fishing, biking and camping. His good sense of humor and quick wit always made him the life of the party. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Condolences may be left at Richardson Funeral Home at [email protected]. There will be no visitation or service per Denny's request as he has donated his body to The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine for scientific purposes. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice Home, 2001 Kimball Ave., Waterloo, IA 50702. A celebration of Denny's life and his 65th birthday will be held at Volks Haus, 324 E. 4th Street in Waterloo from 4 until 9 PM on Wednesday 10/10/12. Please join his family, friends and co-workers for one last toast.
