Age 46, of West Middlesex, PA passed away in Sharon, PA on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 26, 1972, to Dennis Peter Malachow and Geraldine Lynn Merritts Malachow. He married Lori Marie Gwin on November 17, 2012. Dennis worked for Greenbrier Rail Services as a shipping supervisor. He graduated from Carlynton High School in 1992 and was part of the Basketball Team which won the State Championship. He was a member of the Nashua Orthodox Presbyterian Church. He loved music, playing guitar, and singing. He enjoyed photography (nature and family); was an avid reader (Puritan time period); had culinary interests and liked to travel. He loved spending time with his children and enjoyed watching their participation in sports. He was spirited and full of charisma. He had an unforgettable personality. Anyone who met him considered him a friend. Survivors include his wife, Lori at home; son, Tyler and daughter, Molly, both of Pittsburgh; stepsons, Cody and Nicholas Kobielus of West Middlesex; mother, Geraldine Otto and husband, Larry of Oakdale, PA; sister, Michelle Ward of McDonald, PA; and grandmother, Mary Malachow of Mercer. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be at the Nashua Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 6893 PA 551, Edinburg, PA 16116 on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Patrick Ramsey presiding. Family will receive friends at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, PA Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
