Dennis Kay McAlister passed away on March 28, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia from complications from Parkinson's disease. He was born on October 12, 1945, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and grew up in Spruce Pine, North Carolina before settling in Williamsburg.

Dennis built a successful 40-year career as a real estate broker. He was dedicated to the profession, serving on the Board of Realtors and managing and mentoring others with honor and integrity.

He enjoyed playing golf, supporting the College of William & Mary athletics and the Washington Commanders (formerly the Redskins). He loved to travel and took many wonderful trips with his wife Marsha. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and attended the Highland Games on Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina with his brothers and nephews for many years.

Dennis built a wonderful life as a husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Marsha F. McAlister; his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Francie and Ed Teer; and grandchildren Jacob and Sadie Teer. He is also remembered by sister-in-law Beverly McAlister; niece Andrea and Charles Osborne; nieces Lynne McAlister and Lisa McAlister; sister-in-law Linda McAlister; nephew David and Laura McAlister and their son Jackson; nephew Mark and Wendy McAlister and their sons Malachi, Silas, and Canaan, as well as sister-in-law Joyce Kuberek; nephew David and Liz McAlister, and their daughter Aria; nephew Gary and Alexis McAlister, and their children Mila, Callan & Bryson; and nephew Andrew and BillyAnne McAlister. Also surviving is Dennis's mother in law, Mary Fox; sister in law Linda and Rick Rohrer and nephew Chris and Kimberly McDaniels and their children Connor and Mick; and nephew Bryan McDaniels and nieces Emily and Alex Brennen and Marybeth Fox; and nephew Preston Fox.

Dennis was predeceased by three brothers, Earl McAlister, Gary McAlister and his twin, David McAlister, as well as his parents, Andrew and Helen McAlister; brother in law Richard Fox and father in law Bob Fox.

A service will be held May 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Walnut Hills Baptist Church in Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walnut Hills Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 1014 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Many good memories of Dennis and Marsha at Walnut Hills, his golf, and as our outstanding real estate agent when we sold our home and moved to Texas. He left a positive and lasting impression and will be missed by many. Bill and Anne Wilson
