Dennis Ottney Obituary
FREMONT: Dennis "Denny" L. Ottney, 73, of Alger St, Fremont passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Parkview Care Center.
He was born on March 13, 1939 in Fremont, the son of Ollus and Dorothy (Creeger) Ottney, Jr. Denny married Mary Strausbaugh on March 22, 1958 in Fremont and she survives.
He worked for H.J. Heinz Co. for forty years and retired in 2001. He was also an Auxiliary Police Officer for the city of Fremont. Denny was a member of the Fremont Eagles. He enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin in Pennsylvania.
Denny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Ottney, Fremont, OH; children, Dennis "Baldy" J. (Kim) Ottney, Danny (Rhonda) Ottney, Mark (Emily) Ottney, all of Fremont, OH, Marty Joe Ottney, Cleveland, OH, Tony Ottney, Sandusky, OH, Michelle (John) Franz, Cleveland, OH; eleven grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; three nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Ottney and grandson, Travis Ottney.
Visitation: Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH. Service: Monday, December 17, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Celebrant Thomas J. Horvath officiating.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Denny. I worked with Denny for many years at Heinz. He was a GREAT guy. His smile will be missed. My heart goes out to Mary and the rest of the Ottney family. Mary, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through these hard times.
