I had the pleasure of knowing Dennis and being friends with him in our high school years. We spent time at Wildwood and once became landscapers at Beachcomber Campground together. Then it was on to can runs. Dennis, The rest of the crew and I would stop by the Mayfair house and get the boxing story, and then wonder NE Philly for fun.
We had our Wildwood lives and our Philly lives and lived them to the fullest. Dennis always had a Smile and was always happy to push out his teeth to get a rise. He had a zest for life, loved his family, and home. I miss him
I pray that Dennis’s children have his spark in them. They world needs it.
I am extremely sorry for you loss.

My brother Fank and I were talking about the time when Dennis, Michael John, Timmy and Frank swam and ran across Hertford Inlet from North Wildwood to Stone Harbor on a Saturday morning. Mrs. Regan picked them up in her VW Bug. Dennis was always up for an adventure. Still can't believe he's gone. Love, Hughie and Frank Keough

As I live life and meet all sorts of people from all over the world, only certain individuals standout and are remembered fondly...like Dennis.
Most of my best memories rowing and socializing at LaSalle include Dennis and I will never forget him. He was truely a unique person and much loved and admired. I can only hope that I may also touch people's lives like Dennis did.
May the grace of almightly God be with Dennis's family and friends, and may Dennis rest in peace.

Dear Regan Family please accept my deepest sympathies. I was shocked and saddened to learn of Dennis' passing. We were best buds for a time back at St. Leo's. Last time I saw him was 33 years ago. He was great guy then. I am glad to see He didn't change. My prayers go with him and you all.

My sympathy to the Regan family I was so sad to hear of the passing of Dennis I just found out this evening from a friend. I will always remeber the last time I saw Dennis he stopped by on Irish weekend two years ago to extend his sympathy for the loss of my dad Larry Wenzel. We talked about all the good times he had with my dad and how he appreciated all my Dad did for him. He came back to go through all my Dad's lifeguard pictures and he was so happy I told him to take whatever one's he wanted, He was very special to my Dad and I know they are both in heaven together talking about old lifeguard stories and having a cold beer. What a loss of such a great guy who loved his family and life. I will never forget his great smile.

Dear Maria and family,
Dennis worked for me at TeleCheck for a few years, starting in 1985. For a young man, he had such talent, energy and promise. He inspired us all.
Although we lost touch over time, I never forgot this young man with such strong values. I hoped he continued on that path and, from reading all the Guest Book entries, it seems that he had.
God took Dennis to be with Him before you wanted to let go. Remember, Dennis will always be with you. May you and his children keep his legacy alive.
Love and support one another.

DEAR MARIA & FAMILY,
I WAS BOTH SURPRISED AND SORROWED TO HEAR OF DENNIS' PASSING. I SPENT MANY A GOOD NIGHT AT GREAT PARTIES WITH HIM IN MY YOUNGER YEARS. AS WE PROGRESSED THROUGH OUR LIVES, WE STAYED IN TOUCH AND HE ALWAYS OFFERED HAPPINESS, JOY AND FUN WHEN HE WAS AROUND. HE WAS TRULY ONE OF NORTH WILDWOOD'S HALL OF FAMERS. I HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME ACCEPTING THAT HE IS NO LONGER WITH US, BUT SECURE IN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT HE IS IN GOD'S LOVING ARMS. CLIFF BALDWIN

I had the pleasure of coaching Dennis a bit at LaSalle and watching him later win Dad Vail gold in the pair, the most demanding event, an event custom made for a tough rower like Dennis. I am pretty sure no one from LaSalle has worn Dad Vail gold since. From time to time I would see Dennis at the shore or around LaSalle High and he never failed to lift my spirits. Truly a great guy who will be missed.

Maria and family, I would like to share a prayer with you that is on the back of a prayer card from a dear friend of mine that passed away last summer. This prayer gives me great comfort and I hope it does for you. I was fortunate enough to see Dennis on October 19th at a cross country meet that Annie and my daughter were running. It was a perfect fall day, Dennis was the first person I saw when I arrived at the race, he was like a breath of fresh air and we had a great conversation. God Bless Dennis Regan and his family!
Do not look forward to the trials and crosses of this life with dread and fear, Rather, look to them with full confidence that, as they arise, God to whom you belong, will deliver you from them
He has guided and guarded you thus far in life. Do you but hold fast to his dear hand, and he will lead you safely through all trials. Whenever you cannot stand, he will carry you lovingly in his arms.
Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow. The same Eternal Father who cares for you today will take good care of you tomorrow and every day of your life. Either he will shield you from suffering or he will give you the unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace then and put aside all useless thoughts, vain dreads, and anxious imaginations.
With Much Love,
Pauline (Brady) Heater

To some lifeguarding on a beach would be looked at as simply a fun job, and at the time it was. Years later I realized it was much more than that. It gave me an opportunity to expand my friend base, meeting many new people, including Dennis. All my memories of time spent with the Regan family included the big smile and laugh that he always offered. Denis could always make you feel better when things weren't going right. I've always looked forward to seeing Dennis and the Regan family during the summer months. Attending the races and getting together with everyone has always been a highlight. I can assure you that we will all be missing him at those events going forward. I'm sure we will be raising a glass in his memory for years to come. During the past couple of years my son had been fortunate enough to spend many of his summer days with all of the Regan's, who are now a part of his life. He is a better person for it. Dennis, thanks for all of the fond memories. We will all miss you. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Regan family.

As we know, God works in such mysterious ways that we will never truly understand. And this time, He threw us all curve ball that we didn't see coming.
Dennis touched so many people in his short life. That was evident by the amazing turnout at his viewing {With over 1,000 people showing their respect, Dennis made us work overtime last night}.
We should always remember that the value of Dennis' life should not be measured in its length, but how generous and caring he was when he lived. In Dennis' case, he lived a lifetime!
They say Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery. As Dennis' younger brother, I took that to the extreme. Growing up, I did everything Dennis did. You would think he would have been sick of me, but we just loved being together. As we grew older, it continued. Dennis went to LaSalle University, I went to LaSalle. Dennis pledged Sigma Phi Lambda fraternity, I pledged. He rowed crew, lifeguarded in North Wildwood and married a wonderful person and had three beautiful children, as did I. And for 46 years we spent our summer vacations together. [Also, you may have noticed that Dennis had a receding hairline and so do I,but that was not by choice].
Growing up without a father, I was blessed to have Dennis as an older brother. He was always there to support and encourage me in any way he could. But more importantly, it was through his words and actions that he taught me how to be respectful, kind and caring toward others and always doing it with a smile on his face. {He also taught me many jokes & limericks, but we'll save those for another time}.
A few months ago, Dennis and I went on a 4-hour fishing trip {on Brooks boat - The Duke of Fluke}. It was hot and muggy day and we didn't catch many fish but, as always, we had a great time just being together. And, although no one won the pool for the biggest fish, Dennis won the raffle. And, in Dennis style, he gave the money to the crew on the boat.
Over the last few days, I've been wondering what it would be like to be with Dennis again for another fishing trip. What would we talk about? I would have asked Dennis what he would say about the people in his life that he loved and cared about so much.
Here's what I think he would have said:
To my immediate Family - (Eileen, Don and Tommy, Joey, Kathleen, Syd, Michael John, Sarah, Timmy & Maureen): You all know in your hearts what I would say to each of you and it should put a smile on your face. Stay Strong...We have an awesome family!
To the Cornely's:(Mr. & Mrs. Cornely, Dan, Ellana, Michael, Stephen, Cindy, Tommy, Joann, Chrissy & Mike) Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your great family. Your love and support meant so much to me.
To all my other relatives, co-workers and friends: Remember, whenever you want to reach me, I'm Only a Prayer Away {What a great feeling knowing that Dennis is looking over us}.
To My Three Beautiful Children: Patrick, Theresa and Annie - Always remember the laughter and special moments we shared together - there were many. I am so proud of each of you and I love you more than you can imagine.
To Maria:Thank you for a great life together filled with fond memories.I will always love you.
During this trip, Dennis would have said so much more about each of you, but I will leave that up to you to hear those words for yourself in your heart...And Don't Forget That Dennis Smile!
Dennis was my Best Man at our wedding and gave an unbelievable toast. During the toast, he referred to me as being Mr. Lucky because he said I always got the best hand in pinochle, or caught the biggest fish or won my share of raffles. He was right...I am the luckiest person in the world! Because for 47 years Dennis Regan was my Big Brother, Best Friend and He Will Always Be a Part of Who I Am.
God Bless You Dennis. I Love You!
Summer Fun!

Dennis was one of my very first Jersey Shore swimming friends. Since 1990 we would meet to swim in the ocean when we were both in North Wildwood. He was much faster than me so he would swim ahead and back to stay with me, always laughing and smiling. In 1996 when I started the Plunge for Patients to raise money for cancer patients he was the first to volunteer to help. When we added the Beyond the Breakers Novice Swim to the event he said he would take care of everything, much to the relief of Lou Cirelli, Captain of the Wildwood Beach Patrol. I never saw him without a smile on his face, always asking how he could help. He will be greatly missed by all of his open water swim buddies, especially by me.

Dennis was one of my very first Jersey Shore open water swimming buddies dating back to about 1990. In 1996 when I started the Plunge for Patients to raise money for my Patient and Family Fund to assist cancer patients Dennis was the first to volunteer to help. At 4:30 in the morning he would show up with a smile on his face asking what he could do. He got the Plunge advertised on the PECO Building Crown of Lights, got huge purple coolers donated for the swimmers, and when we started the Beyond the Breakers Novice Swim he told me he would completely take care of running it, which he did for many years. Every year Lou Cirelli would ask if Deniis was running it and when I said yes he knew everything would go well. Maria, you probably don't even remember but one year after Dennis and I swam you told me I just had to run in the Nun Run, the next day I not only ran the 5K race but also met my now husband Charlie. Dennis will be greatly missed by all of his open water friends, especially by me. Viki Anders

Dennis was avery special person, and a very good friend, I've only seen him a couple of times in the past few years, but the days down the shore with him, Mace,Curt, Jaime ,BD and everyone in our group, we had a blast. I will never forget the time he talked me into driving from Wildwood to Phila. to see the midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture show in 1978, course that was after a few hours in a bar, something I won't ever forget,I am a better person for meeting him, and to call him my friend. The last time I saw Dennis was at the Austrian Village with Pat and it was very touching to see the father/son bonding and to listen to Dennis brag about how great Pat is doing! Annie, remember your dad lives in your heart. Maria, call for anything. So very sorry - Janet Schnitzer

Such a sudden loss and a sad day. I will always remember my cousin, Dennis, when my dad used to pull up to Aunt Eileen's in North Wildwood and Dennis would be the first one to run out of the house to greet us with his smile. He greeted me with that same smile as an adult whenever I ran into him when our sons played baseball, at the Dennisville Wawa or anywhere else. He always had that SMILE! We will miss running into you during the summer months on the beach in NWW, but will always remember you when we're there. We will miss you Cuz! The extended family just won't be the same without you.
To Marie, Pat, Theresa and Ann, You will be in our thoughts and prayers. May God give you strength to carry on.

My deepest sympathies to Dennis' family. You are all such beautiful and kind people. I don't know where to begin. Two summers ago I saw Dennis at the lifeguard race party, he was judging the event along with a number of other alumni, and he belted out the 'horse' song and gave me a big bear hug. It had been over 20 years since I saw Dennis and he made me wish I hadn't been away so long. He made me feel like it was old times on the beach. He told me how good it was to see me and asked about my brother Frank. Dennis and his brothers treated my brother Frank like one of their own. Frank and the Regans were in the South Jerseys together one summer representing North Wildwood. Dennis motivated Frank, gave him confidence and cheered him on. It was great fun and I was so grateful. Dennis loved the ocean. He loved swimming in it, rowing in it and running through it. One time Dennis, MJ, Timmy and Frank swam-ran-swam from Moore's Inlet Beach across Hertford's Inlet and landed on Stone Harbor's beach where the nun's have their retreat house in only their speedos. They jogged away from the beach tag checkers to MJ's car and came home. What an adventure! Dennis was our hero when he won the 1983 Dad Vail Doubles Championship! Here was our boy from the neighborhood winning the race dominated by the 'preppies' from the Main Line. He was our Rocky that day. Our brightest star. He still loved to swim in the open ocean. This past summer at the guards race we talked about swimming together with our torpedo buoys once again. Dennis still swam in the AC Pageant swim this year. As I sit here I can't believe I writing this about him. I miss him already and have a tough time knowing I'll never see him again. He was a brother to my brother and a good friend of mine. God Bless you Dennis and God Bless the Regan Family.

Dennis, I met you after I left the Wildwood Beach Patrol in '75, but really came to enjoy your presence at our last 4-5 reunions in September. You had a smile lying in ambush that only broadened during our greetings. You were genuinely happy to see me and your exuberance made me feel like I knew you forever. "Dennis I hardly knew ye". Your presence will be sorely missed.
My deepest condolences to the Regan family.

Our deepest sympathy to the Regan family. We are so shocked and saddened by Dennis's passing. We remember visiting with Dennis, Maria, Eileen and family with Aunt Margaret two years ago in Wildwood and it was such a wonderful day. I remember having a great conversation with Dennis at the McKenna family reunion. He was a genuine, kind person. His passing is such a loss. The Regan family will be in our prayers. "Well they built the Titanic to be one of a kind, but many ships have ruled the seas.
They built the Eiffel Tower to stand alone, but they could build another if they please.
Taj Mahal, the pyramids of Egypt, are unique I suppose.
But when they built you, brother, they broke the mold."
Please, accept our deepest sympathy and know that we are praying for Dennis and the Regan family at this difficult time.
