Dennis C. Shanahan

SHANAHAN, DENNIS C. - age 59 of Lenoir City, passed away at his home Saturday, October 31, 2009. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and a retired private investigator. He served in the Navy and attended the United States Naval Academy. Dennis was an entrepreneur, a jack of all trades and a family man. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Whitney and his parents, Dennis W. and Bettye Shanahan. Dennis is survived by his wife of 30 years, Edie Livingstone Shanahan; children: Debbie Shanahan, Michael Shanahan and wife, Amy, D.C. Shanahan and wife, Chelsea, and Christopher Shanahan; stepsons, Richard Tighe and wife, Hermila, Keith Tighe; grandchildren: Gabriel Shanahan, Ricky and Victoria Tighe, Danielle, Kristen, Jenna and Hailey Tighe; sisters: Megan Morehead and husband, Bill, Karen Renk and husband, Tom, Michaela Shanahan, along with several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: TN Right To Life or Catholic Charities. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City with Father Christian Mathis and Deacon Jose Rivera officiating.
