Seeing the photo of Dennis and Freckles posted by Rodger Prestly reminds me of kinder, gentler days and warm summer afternoons and evenings in and around DeLand. It reminds me of the comforting words and bright, smiling eyes and quiet laughter of Dennis. It reminds me of the always funny commentary and quips he shared with those who flocked to sit near and around their wonderful friend who was at peace with himself, and his dog, and the world...

My best friend. Since high school. I will miss Dennis in so many ways, just as I enjoyed Dennis in so many ways. My entire family loved him very much.

I am so sorry to learn of Dennis's passing. In recent years we seemed to meet at Ace Hardware. I remember Dennis from the Dennis and Melissa years. We did dance lessons together as well as projects for the DeLand UU Fellowship. Dennis was always warm and interested in what you were doing. Many will miss him.

My husband and I met Dennis and Melissa through the Unitarian-Universalist fellowship in DeLand. The four of us became great friends, and shared many dinners, short trips, and good times together for many years. Denny had a smile for everyone, and a sense of humor that put people at ease. He appreciated art and music and books, and always enjoyed learning. He was generous and kind. He will be sorely missed.

I met Denny at the skating rink in DeLand Florida and he became the love of my life. We enjoyed 12 years together. He and I took ballroom dancing lessons and loved to dance. My condolences to his brother Mike and family. Our world has lost a truly beautiful soul.

My Greatest Uncle Denny was the best (hence the name). The only person i´ve ever met that could send his voice through a letter. He welcomed me with the warmest arms and coziest smile. An amazing man is an understatement. One of the most energetic, entertaining, and insightful people I have ever met in my life. He will forever be loved and missed dearly.

Dennis loved to share art work and analyze it in ways I would have never thought of. He opened my mind to looking at art in a different way. He always had a smile on his face! A great man with great energy. He will be so missed.
