Dennis is always on my mind now. I have a picture of him and Wayne as kids in the old country school. I can still see their faces when they would arrive at our house cold and wet from wading snow to their arm pits. My prayers are with you both, and please remember, memory is the best part of healing. Memories will always keep him close.

Have a great memory today!

Love to you both, Dixie (Frisbie) Shore

Dear Anita,

I was so sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your husband. Although it may not make sense, God has taken Dennis home for His own reasons. Yes, it is hard; yes, it hurts; yes, it is overwhelming. But always remember that God loves you and Gretchen. He takes care of widows and orphans. Lean on Him. We did, and He has never failed us. I am praying for you and Gretchen.

With love in Jesus Christ,

Anita and Gretchen,

I am yet another person who is extremely proud and fortunate to have served with Denny in the 257. During the course of one’s life, you meet a few people that you recognize as being very special: Denny was one of those people. Among many other things, Denny will be remembered for both his imposing presence and his thoughtful kindness. I know very well that there may never be another person like Denny to cross my path, but one of his legacies is that we all carry a vivid piece of him in our memories, which we will be able to share and reflect on during his absence. Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of a community of people who – at some point in their lives - were lead and befriended by Denny.

Gretchen and Anita:

I was so saddened to learn about Denny's passing. He was such a positive force in the lives of so many young men and women. Judd and I enlisted one month apart so I spent the beginning of my adult life with Judd and Denny. Denny was admired by all and tought each of us how to be not only a good soldier but a good person. Denny was a true role model. Denny's strength, wisdom, and positive influence will truly live on in the lives of so many of us that he molded into men and women. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing how deeply he touched so many people.

My family wishes to express its gratitude for your Husband's service to our county and to express our symathy and condolences for your loss. It is important you know that average Minnesotans hold the service and sacrifice of our servicemen and there families in the highest regard. May God comfort you for he has welcomed your loved one already.

Anita and Gretchen,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. Next to my own dad, Denny was the best man I have ever known. He was a wonderful man who enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. I will remember him with thoughts of laughter and dance. The wink and smile that came with every greeting. He will be deeply missed.

Gretchen,

I am so sorry about your father's passing. I did not hear about Judd until years later and when I did it was unbearable. I just didn't want to believe it. I wanted to say something then to you, Janine, and Rich but I didn't know what to say. Nothing seemed good enough.

I could still remember him as the tanned little boy that I would babysit who used to come to our door and ask if my little sister Susie could come out and play. He was so full of life and was such a wonderful kid.

My Mom used to watch Judd go down the block when he was older and she would always say what a good looking boy he was and how he was always on the move and that it seemed nothing could hold him back.

It sounds like your Father was much the same way.

God bless you, your family, and your brother and father in Heaven.

Karen Goodwin and Family and on behalf of the entire Gilsvik Family.

Anita and family,

We send our sincere sympathy to you, as you grieve the loss of your husband and father. Anita, as you probably know, you and Dennis became part of the St. Luke family. All of us feel a great loss knowing one of our family members is gone. We will keep all of you in our prayers and thoughts hoping that some comfort can be known that your friends many miles away share your grief and loss. We pray that God will comfort all of you during this time, and may his Memory be Eternal. In Christ's love,

Once again I find myself expressing my sympathies to the Tellock Family. First with Judd's passing and now with Dennis. I served with both in the 257th, deploying with them to Panama, Korea, and with Judd to Desert Storm. Dennis is the man who was reponsible for enlisting me, being the uncle of my best friend Jeff Giller. Dennis treated me like family, then again he treated everyone he met like family. He was a hardnosed person, but also one who would do anything he could to help you out. Top and bottom are reunited again, God bless you Dennis and look after the Tellock family in this trying time.

Anita & Gretchen;

There are no words that can express how I feel for your loss, just as there are no words to truly comfort you. Dennis was a special man, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He and Judd are together now, as they should be. I hope Grampa doesn't keep him too busy up there...God Bless

Dear Anita, I can't begin to know how you are feeling; perhaps you're just numb for now...my heart and prayers go out to you for your loss. I will always remember Dennis' happy face when he played St. Nick last year. I will keep him and you in my prayers. For now, I send you my love and sincere sympathy.

Dear Anita:

It is amazing how life treats us, as suddenly it takes our loved ones from among us. However, we trust the Lord that this is His Will. May the Holy Spirit confort you, as no human can do that properly. We will miss Dennis, as he used to visit us at St. Luke's with you. Our prayers are offered for you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to the Tellock family. I served with Denny in the Minnesota National Guard and have many fond memories of him. I remember Denny as a take charge guy you count on but yet had a heart of gold. Through his service to his country he has touched many peoples lives in a very positve way and will be missed by many.

Its close to 20 years since I last saw Denny, but it seems like just yesterday. I'll never forget his big smile, positive approach to any situation, and natural talent for making a total stranger feel right at home. Denny was a great man, a great leader and a great friend. It will be a bigger, sadder world without him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

To the Tellock family I would like to extend my heart to you. Denny made an impression in this world I for one will never forget. Denny welcomed me into the NG back in 1980, and continued to make me feel very much like a soldier and friend. Denny was someone I or anyone could go to for advice. His personal touch was comforting and father like. I often thought of Denny as a mentor and friend. He was always their for anyone who needed them.

He lived the life of a soldiers, soldier. He wouldn't ask anyone to do anything he wouldn't do himself. He will be deeply missed and always in my thoughts.

Anita and Gretchen,

Loretta and I extend our deepest sympathy on your loss of a husband and father. Denny and I served together in the NG for over 25 years. He was a truly outstanding soldier and a great friend. He always made me laugh no matter how bad things seemed at the time. I will never forget his take charge attitude and big booming voice. We fondly referred to him as the cement covered marshmallow. He had a heart of gold and will be missed by all. God love and keep you in your time of grief and our prayers are with you.
