Dennis West

Dennis West, 78 of Williams Bay, WI, died January 28th at home, with his wife of 57 years Kathi by his side.
Born and raised in Rockford, he spent over 20 years at Rockford's WCEE/WIFR-TV station, rising from salesman to president of the company. He and Kathi enjoyed many travels and good times together.
After he completed a journalism degree at UW-Madison, the family moved to the Lake Geneva area in 1993. For over 25 years, Dennis was the Editor of The Beacon newspaper, a popular publication in Walworth County.
He was a graduate of Rockford West High School, class of 1961. He and about a dozen classmates, called The Old Warriors, gathered each summer in northern Wisconsin to relax and reminisce.
Dennis was a friendly, outgoing person. He was always ready to share a good story, and never shy about giving you his opinion. His regular Beacon column WestWords was an entertaining mix of information, humor and words of wisdom. He will be missed by many.
Dennis always loved his pets, especially his cats. He once said that when he died, he hoped he'd go to a place where all his former pets would be. Here's hoping he's with Charlie, Noah and many more right now.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathi Bovi West; sons Paul and Mark West; grandsons Miles and Ethan West; sister Martha West; brother Paul West; and cats Molly and Shamus.
