Dennis L. Yeakel

Dennis L. Yeakel, 77 of Bethlehem passed away on March 25, 2021 at Kirkland Village of Bethlehem. Dennis married the love of his life Lois (Carter) Yeakel in 1967, they would have been married 54 years on August 12th. Dennis was born in Center Valley on March 6, 1944 the third oldest son of the late Luke Z. and Elva (Price) Yeakel. He was raised in Coopersburg and graduated from Southern Lehigh HS in 1962. He worked for US Gauge for a brief time and joined the US Navy with two of his close friends Ron and Skip. Dennis was in the Vietnam War in 1966-1967 primarily on the USS White River and USS Washoe County. He was a tractor trailer driver for Smith's Transfer, Red Star and National Freight, having had only one reportable accident in over 40 years of driving. He was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Coopersburg. Dennis was a loving husband, beloved father to his sons and a wonderful Pappy to his grandchildren. Pappy's main joy in life was making his grandchildren laugh. He enjoyed the beach, cruising and traveling.

Survivors: Wife Lois, their two sons Eric D. Yeakel and wife Janet of Center Valley, and Brian K. Yeakel and wife Michelle of Bethlehem. Brother, Barry D. Yeakel of Hellertown. He was a beloved Pappy to their five grandchildren Alexis, Brian Luke, Olivia, Madeline and Emma. Predeceased by brothers Forry and Ray. He was greatly loved by sister-in-law Janis Carter and her granddaughter Colby.

Viewing & Services: Saturday April 10, 2021 viewing 10 AM to 11 AM followed by the Service at 11AM with Pastor Thomas Shorb officiating all at the Herron Funeral Home 458 Center Street Bethlehem. Entombment with Military Honors to follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
