Derek P. Gurwah

Derek Phillip Gurwah, 57, of Coral Springs, Florida passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2021. Derek was born in Allness, Guyana on September 13, 1964, to Arjune & Jean (Khidaroo) Gurwah.

At the age of 21, Derek migrated to the US with his parents where he resided in Maryland. He received his college education in New York and worked in Maryland as a TV Technician until 2014 in which he and his family relocated to Florida.
In Florida, he worked as an HVAC Specialist where he touched the lives of many of his clients and even became good friends with some. He was always a reliable person who was there to lend a helping hand whenever needed.

He was a hard-working man who was always on the move. Even on his days off, he would be working, but as much as he worked he would always make sure he was at home to spend quality time with his family. He was a devoted father and husband who worked hard to care for his family. He was the kind of person who left a positive impact on every person he came in contact with, whether it was his infectious laughter, his generosity, or his life long advice.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Bibi Fazina (Azeez) Gurwah and their three children: Phillip, Stephen, and Allison; granddaughter Valerie and daughter-in-law Esther;
brothers: Raymond, Neville, Carl, and Kenneth; sisters: June, Grace, Pauline, and Margaret, and in-laws as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, families, and friends.

Derek will be missed but will live on forever in our hearts and be kept alive through our memories as a very kind, humble, and peaceful person.
