Derek HALVERSON

HALVERSON, Derek John June 30, 1987 - November 14, 2003 Derek, beloved son of Charlie and Jan, and adored brother of Krista, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with leukemia. His easygoing personality was infectious and his strength was inspirational. Derek will be sadly missed by his close and extended family, and all his many friends. He was a talented and imaginative artist who loved to capture the essence of his passion for anything on wheels. A natural athlete, he loved to play hockey, baseball and golf. An immense void is left as a young man, filled with so much inspiration and intelligence was taken from us far too soon. Our heartfelt thanks to all of those involved with Derek's treatment at Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, and the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oncology Department at either the Stollery Children's Hospital, Edmonton or the Alberta Children's Hospital, Calgary. A Celebration of Derek's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2003 in Memories Funeral Chapel, 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, Alberta.
