Derek Heinis Obituary
Derek was a free-spirited individual who embraced life with kindness and love. He had a unique philosophy of living freely, which led him to form friendships with people from all walks of life. His adventurous spirit and welcoming nature endeared him to many, making him a beloved figure wherever he went. Derek's beautiful soul shone through in everything he did.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Vida Massie; father, Darrin Heinis; brothers Brett, Kevin, Jace; sisters Michelle, Kylie, Layla; grandmother Mariena Hilton; grandmother Vicki Lange; grandfather Terry Heinis; nephew Nolan Abbott; nephew Avery Harris; niece Alivia Harris; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Derek is preceded in death by his grandfather William Hilton.
In his free time, Derek enjoyed skateboarding, making friends, and welding. His passions reflected his adventurous spirit and creativity.
A viewing will be held at Watershed Church, 9315 Broadway Street, San Antonio, Texas 78217. A Celebration of Life in honor of Derek will take place at Lady Bird Johnson Park, 10700 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78217.
Derek's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
