Derek Eugene Vaughn (1987-2015)

Derek Eugene Vaughn, age 28 of Birmingham, AL, passed away on October 16th 2015. He was preceded in his death by his grandfather, Claudis Vaughn. He is survived by Rachael Moore; his mother, Teresa Vaughn (Thomas); two sisters, Kayla Thomas and Kellie Thomas; one son, Kason Vaughn; one nephew, Chase Smoake; his grandmother Dianne Vaughn; several aunts and uncles and cousins; many close and special friends that became family. A visitation with be held on Monday, October 19th, 2015 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM. Chapel services will be Tuesday beginning at 11 AM and followed with interment in Bethlehem Baptist Cementery on Highway 79 in Selfville, AL. Pallbearers will be Ian Eubanks, Dan Chatham, Sean Coleman, Ryan Mims, Ross Andrews, and Rahsaan Grant. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Derek's funeral cost through his mother's paypal [email protected] .

Been thinking about you a lot lately. Miss being around your natural curiosity and dedication to anything that struck you as even remotely interesting. Man, there just wasn't anyone like you and I am so glad I got to spend a lot of my most formative and wild years having you as one of my closest friends. If the universe is fair and justified then I can spend what time I have left on this plane of existence taking comfort in knowing we will meet again, and that the best times have yet to come. Save your energy for one more air guitar performance of Type O Negative's discography for me.

Derek is a very great person always smiling we known each other ever since we was very young he lived by me and went to the same church long loss friend we kelpt in touch off and on over the years he will always be missed he's in a wonderful place called heaven god is so good he's in n more pain family will be in my prayers the viewing was very pretty!

Babe....there will never be a day that when someone asks me what do I need that my first response doesn't want to be Derek. You have my heart forever. I treasure every smile every hug every kiss I stole every back rub you made me give you every fight every frustration every moment. I would not trade anything in the past 3 and a half years I have had with you except that I would have told you I loved you sooner. You will always be the one for me. You were my greatest adventure.
