Dearest D,
It´s Christmas and we are missing you beyond words. How I long for the days when we woke up on Christmas morning to mom and dad sitting around the tree and watching us open our presents. I´d give anything to go back to the 70s and 80s. We were sure lucky. We had the best parents in the world.

Dearest D,
Today would have been your 56th birthday. We miss you beyond words and wish you could be here to celebrate. The Olympics are in full swing and Canada is doing well, especially in the pool. I remember when we watched Phelps win all of his golds in 2008. You would have loved the excitement in Paris, with Summer McIntosh in the pool and the gymnastics events. I so wish you were here to enjoy it all. We will have a nice dinner tonight in your honour and finish it off with a triple chocolate cake. You are missed by everyone. Love always and forever,

Another birthday without you. We miss you so much. Lots of friends and family have been sharing messages and sending birthday greetings for you. For your special day we went to the beach for ice cream and cooked one of your favourite dishes for dinner. Afterwards I spent the evening with your friend Paul Foster and heard some hilarious stories from jr & sr high school. It was such a nice way to end your special day, reminiscing about happy times. Paul even sang me the song he wrote for your band' back in the day, Big Brown Cadillac. Priceless!

Dearest Haywood, it has taken me all these years to find this book. I often think of you and your family and remember happy memories of working with you in Edinburgh. You were one the kindest, funniest men I have known and made my time in Edinburgh a little happier always knowing you were there.
I am living in Newcastle now, and often wonder if your sister is still here as you used to visit regularly and tell me of the fun times you had, I would love to meet her and hear stories and tales about you.
