Derrick LEGGE Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Nov. 5, 2011.
LEGGE, Derrick
January 26, 1968 - October 31, 2011
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Derrick on October 31, 2011 in Aktobe, Kazakhstan.
Derrick lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and will be known for his love of his family and his huge, giving heart. He will be greatly missed by his wife Asem in Aktobe; his daughter Aliah and stepdaughter Tamika in Aktau, Kazakhstan, and his sons Connor and Parker Legge in St. Albert. He leaves behind his mother Marilyn Meaney and stepfather Earl Manning; brothers Duane (Corlaine), Darron (Denise), Dion, Michael (Jennifer), and sister Renee (Todd). He was a special uncle to Keegan, Kiernan, and Kirsten Legge; Michael Durkin, Emily Quirke, and Rebecca, Michael and Samantha Dutchak. Derrick will be sadly missed by many relatives in Newfoundland, the United States, and across the ocean. He was predeceased by his wife Aigul Legge, father John Legge and sister Rhonda Quirke.
The testament to a life well lived is the effect that life has had on friends and family left behind. Derrick had touched the lives of so many in Alberta, Newfoundland, and across the ocean in Kazakhstan.
A Memorial Service will take place Tuesday, November 8, 2011, 3:00 p.m. at Connelly- Mckinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB. Cremation will have taken place. Those who wish to make memorial donations may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Donations Department, 100, 119 - 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
