Devon Christopher Moore, devoted husband and father, and friend to many passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022. He is already greatly missed by his family and those who loved and worked with him.

Born on January 21, 1970, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Devon's family moved several times due to his father being in the U.S. Air Force before ultimately settling in Houston, Texas. Developing a keen appreciation for nature at an early age, Devon was always in his element when spending time outdoors. His favorite spot in the world was on the shore of Lake Ponchartrain at his grandparents' property in Mandeville, Louisiana. He learned to play the drums as a child and was always in a band, where he developed lasting friendships over the years. A man of varied interests, Devon was always hard at work on his amazing art and music. He became well known in the Houston art world for his works on metal, as well as in the Houston skate boarding scene and martial arts community .

Involved in several ministries at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, he most enjoyed being the thurifer for the special services.

His adoration for his wife, Lisa , and incredible pride in their 15 - year old daughter, Contessa was evident to all who knew him, especially when he raved about staying up till all hours of the night with them, hanging out, and sharing funny stories. Always happy to share his interests with others, Devon made friends everywhere he went. A wonderful story teller, Devon's unique wit, charm and playful sense of humor would shine at every opportunity. Being strong-willed and focused allowed for amazing pride and care in his work; he was never satisfied with "good enough". His hard work, determination and sharp eye for detail led to his success in running DCM Art Services for 20 years. The business Devon established has flourished under his leadership for two decades and will continue to operate, which is what he would have wanted for DCM Art Services and it's employee's. www.DcmArtServices.com

Devon , is survived by his wife, Lisa Carpenter Moore, and their daughter, Contessa; as well as his brother, Robin; uncle, Pete (Glenda) Tucker; aunt Laura (Barry) Breaux; uncle, Clifton Moore; in-laws Brian & Stephanie Carpenter; brother in-law Kevin Carpenter; niece Khloe Carpenter; many cousins and countless dear friends. Devon was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Tucker Kemph, and his father, James Coleman Moore III.

A memorial service celebrating Devon's life will be held on Saturday, September 24th, at 11 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in the Heights, Houston www.saecheights.org . In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Forest Foundation.

So many wonderful memories of Devon going back to the 90´s when his studio was on the third floor of Lawndale Art Center. I also had the opportunity to work with his business with private clients through the years. He will be terribly missed and I am grateful his business will continue his legacy. Many condolences to his family.

Devon was an amazing guy whom I got to know a little bit as we worked on that Art Car (the "Travisaurus") at Travis elementary school. His skills were impressive and he was truly a joy to be around! Wonderful memories!

Devon, Thank you for being a part of our lives in sketchy neighbors. Together we made a difference in many ways. When we all went different but parallel directions, and it felt reassuring if not comfortable to know you were there as a roll model, colleague and a friend.

Devon was the first artist's exhibit at Nicole Longnecker Gallery. Working closely with him helped bond a deep understanding of Devon's connection with Lake Pontchartrain and his family. A better man you will not meet. My condolences to Lisa, Contessa, and his many friends. May his memory remain for an eternal blessing.
