DeWaine Keith Fields, born on March 23, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Norco, California, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, at the age of 65. DeWaine proudly served the Los Angeles Police Department for 32 years, dedicating his life to protecting and serving his community.

Beyond his distinguished career, DeWaine had a passion for life that shone through his hobbies and the relationships he built. He loved horseback riding, taking long Harley road trips, bowling, and camping-activities that he cherished most when shared with his dear friends. DeWaine was known for his gracious spirit, a man who made everyone feel like they were his best friend. His warmth, humor, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

DeWaine is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sonia Fields, and their family: three sons, Weston Fields, Julio Benavides, and Nicholas Benavides; daughter-in-law, Laura Benavides; and two cherished granddaughters, Liliana and Briana Benavides. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Roark, and brother, Mike Fields. DeWaine was preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Pauline Fields.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at The Barn, located at 96 Sixth St., Norco, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, honoring DeWaine's legacy of service and compassion.

DeWaine will be remembered for his generous heart, adventurous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who were fortunate to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
