WASHINGTON, Mr. DeWayne-age 57, of Flint, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center. Calling hours are 1:00pm - 6:00pm Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Sheldon T. Banks Funeral Chapel, 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507.
Mr. DeWayne Washington was born October 28, 1964 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mary Washington and O.D. Washington. He was a lifelong resident of Flint and a 1982 graduate of Flint Central High School. DeWayne met his high school sweet heart in 1980 and they were married in 2000. DeWayne was a member of Open Door Temple COGIC since 2018. He was employed with Mary James William Adult Foster Care for working with his mother Mary Washington. After working with his mother for many years and learning the business he became a manager and had his own lawn care service for 5 years. His hobbies included playing basketball, football and relay racing with his kids. DeWayne loved fishing, hunting for coons, rabbits, deer, squirrels and cooking them for his family. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends and having cook outs.
Mr. DeWayne Washington leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Irandy Harrison-Washington; 9 children, DomaNisha (Antonio) Perkins of Flint, MI, LaToya (Justin) Taylor of Houston, TX, DuWayne Washington of Flint, MI, Christle (Christoper) Jackson of Housing, TX, DeQuinte' Washington of Flint, MI, Sable (Ivan) Crowder of Waterford, MI, DuWain Washington, Jasmine Washington and Samuel Harrison-Washington all of Flint, MI; bonus daughter, Quayera Gilchrist; step-daughter, QuinTisha Norton of Flint, MI; 23 grandchildren; sister, Mary Alexander of Flint, MI; 2 nieces, America Adams and LaDrela Adams both of Flint, MI; uncle, Gerome McGhee of Lansing, MI; 2 aunts, Edna Vanadex of McComb, MS and Annette (Joe) Nimack of Dallas, TX; numerous cousins; mother-in-law, Edna Harrison of Houston, TX; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Paula and Calvin Pruitt, Marty, The Guice, Davis, Pitts, Snowden, Harden Scott, Porter, Hill, Houston and Bunton-Calloway families.
DeWayne Washington was preceded in death by: mother, Mary Washington; father, O.D. Washington; step-father, Lery Guice; grandson, Linold Taylor; grandmother, Margarette McAfee.
The family would like to express special thanks to: Davita Dialysis and Hurley Medical Center.
