In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

The Pierce Family: I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Dad and Husband. I could not come to the funeral home as Mikie probably told you I have had surgery and am not fit to be out in the public but please know that I am thinking of you all. One thing for sure, Dewey left this earth knowing that he was truly loved by his family and a lot of friends. Pauline, I will be praying for you and your family.

Terri and the entire Pierce family, I apologize for not being there in person. Living beside you all the years while growing up, your family has been one that I not only love, but one to brag about. Every visit there since I moved in 1990, your house was the only one I visited everytime! Dewey made me laugh and was always there if I ever needed his help, and more importantly, he was also my buddy...I will GREATLY MISS HIM!!! Love to you all...

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
