Dexter Holden, born January 11, 1958, to the late Lucious Holden, Jr. and Mary Ruth Martin Holden. He was called home peacefully early Sunday morning. Dexter was educated in the public school system of Rockdale County. During his school years, he was an avid athlete at Rockdale High School as a member of the football and track teams. Dexter was affectionately called Iron Man by his friends. Dexter believed in Christ and was baptized at an early age at James Paschal Baptist Church. He later joined New Beginning Full Gospel Ministries where he continued to be a member until his transition. Dexter worked for many years with car dealerships in the area and later Cheshire Inn until his retired after many years of service.
Dexter was very conscientious about his appearance and loved to make people laugh. He loved and was loved by many. Even when he was not at his best, he was concerned about uplifting others. He loved sports and attending sporting events. His most passionate hobby was washing and detailing cars.
Dexter was preceded in death by daughter Enya Senate, nephew Martin Humphrey, and sister Doris Holden.

I send my Deepest Sympathy to the Holden family. I have known Dexter for many many years. And one thing about Dexter , he never changed. No matter what you may have been dealing with he would make you forget all about it, because within minutes he was going to have you laughing like there was no tomorrow. It has been my pleasure as well as the families pleasure to have has you in our lives. You are surely going to be missed here by all of us. But we also know that to be absent from the body means to be present with the lord.
As it is said, he has his passport and traveling grace. May God Bless the Holden family and keep you all safe in his arms.
God Bless,
The family of Valarie Flanigan Foster
