Diana DeSantis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 24, 2020.
DeSantis (Zimski) Diana Lynn, formerly of Mocanaqua and Norristown PA, danced gracefully into the night on Monday, August 24th at the age of 51. Diana was the loving wife of Paul Fariello for 4 years, and companion for 14 years before that. Diana was the daughter of Nancy Kranick (Cy), and the late Walter J. Zimski (Sylvia) as well as the sister to Barbara Giannini (Luke) and Cindi Cashmer (Stephen), Daniel Zimski, Cy Kranick III (Wendy), Pamela Phillips (Don), Michael Kranick (Celeste), and David Kranick. Diana was also the adoring aunt to David Giannini (Ali), Lucas Gianinni, Jake Cashmer, Nicholas Wurst, Joanna Wurst, Cy Kranick IV, Erin Kranick, William Kranick, the late Brooke Sarff, Edward Sarff, Sierra Youells, and Justina Fletcher, Michael Kranick. Diana will also be greatly missed by her Fuzzy Children; Sukie Jones and the late Frankie. Diana was an amazing singer. She will always be remembered for her angelic rendition of The Battle Of Evermore. Her voice would eventually come to fill concert halls like the Electric Factory in Philadelphia to amphitheaters like the legendary Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado over the years. She enjoyed many years of touring with the band Get the Led Out, and always reveled in the feeling of being on stage. Diana would also come to love the people she met through touring. From fans to roadies, Diana was a friend to all. In 2012 Diana was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer, but she continued to live on her terms, even continuing to tour the U.S. while undergoing treatment. She began to build a support group over the years of women going through the same journey as her. Diana was even able to bring some of her group to concerts a few times. In keeping with Diana's wishes, a private Life Celebration Memorial Service was held on Sunday August 30th. In lieu of flowers, donations in Diana's memory to the METAvivor Metastatic Breast Cancer Foundation or the Center on Halsted in support of the LGBT community would be greatly appreciated. Diana will always be remembered for the love she exuded and her willingness to always help others. It is Diana's wish that you help someone in need, or offer your love whenever possible, and she challenges us all to better ourselves in this way. https://www.metavivor.org/take-action/donate/ https://www.centeronhalsted.org/donate.html

I wish her family nothing but fond memories, then she's never really gone! Paul Fariello (Sinclair) you were both very happy to have such a love. Paul.....I'm trying to get in touch with you. Wow !! I just found out of Diana’s passing. We met many years ago while out watching a NASCAR race. ( we were sorta in on the joke) We shared an absolute obsession with the old Match Game shows from the 70’s and would message each other when learning of one of the “stars” passings. I will miss our 2-3 times a year chats. She was always kind and positive and a prettier person you’ll not find. Condolences to her friends and family.

My most heartfelt hugs of love and condolences to Paul, the band, and her family and friends. I wait for one show a year, GTLO, at Red Rocks. It's a very dear place to me, it's where I had my brother's memorial. Red Rocks was our home away from home. You were such a bright light on stage, and and such an amazing voice. RIP, you'll be missed. -Shelley Stone, Fan, Arvada, CO, Oct 10, 2020

God could not have picked a more beautiful, loving and caring person to be an Angel than Diana. She was definitely one-of-a-kind! She was loved by everyone that she had ever met! Diana had this glow about her that made everyone else glow too! She was probably the most caring and sweetest person I have ever met. Whenever she walk onto the stage... You could feel the room brighten up with all eyes on her. She was magical in the way that she made her friends and fans feel. It really is hard to believe that she is no longer among us.. But her memories with always fill our hearts with love. May she forever and ever rest in peace.. My prayer, thoughts and condolences are with her husband Paul and her whole entire family! We will never let her be forgotten!

Diana..Your soul and fabric as a human being was as beautiful as your voice. The positivity and happiness you always exuded will be terribly missed. However, the memories of your smile and gentle, thoughtful approach to life and everyone you encountered will fill the void of our collective loss . We were inspired by your battle and blessed to have known you. Be at Peace. Love Mark Roland

Dear Cindi, I remember meeting Diana in your home in Norristown when we were moving and grabbing discarded furniture from our families; driving a Uhaul truck in our 20's to "furnish" our apartment. When we arrived at your house, I heard sweet music from an upstairs bedroom and an angelic voice. When we entered your sister's room, Diana was dancing and singing. She was a free spirit that I've never encountered before-Just so beautiful, wide-open and alive with energy and passion for music. Makes me feel she brought a little bit of heaven here on earth to all who her heard her voice. Peace be with you, Diana. Love you, Lizann

To the Fariello/Sinclair/GTLO family I am saddened to learn of Diana’s passing. Although I didn’t know her personally, I’ve come to learn how many lives have been made immensely better by her presence. She was a songbird and now is flying high with the angels-without despair and pain. My thoughts and love are with all the family and friends who loved her dearly, especially Paul. You are all cared about so very much. The years may separate us, but we never forget our friends and everything they have meant to us.
