Diane Midgette Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 27, 2025.
Diane Michelle "Grammie" Midgette, 56, passed away on February 26, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Born on April 2, 1968, in Chesapeake, she brought warmth and joy to those around her throughout her life.

Diane is survived by her loving daughter, Ashlee Butler; her cherished grandsons, Trenten Riggins and Derek Robinson; and her son-in-law, Sean Robinson. She also leaves behind many beloved family members, including sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and countless friends who adored her-especially her very best friend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Ruth Chambers; grandparents Annabel and Clifton Barkley; uncle Robin Edward Taylor; and nephew Brandon Kello.

Diane was known for her radiant smile and kind heart. Her strong work ethic and unwavering dependability made her a source of strength for many. She had a unique sense of humor that could brighten any room and an empathy that touched countless lives.

She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved fur baby Penelope. Fascinated by sharks and alligators, she embraced life with an adventurous spirit. Diane was the life of the party, always ready to celebrate with friends and family. Her party anthem, "Who Let the Dogs Out," will forever bring back memories of her infectious energy and joy.

Diane's presence was a light in so many lives. Though she is no longer physically with us, the love she shared will remain in our hearts forever.

To the Family,

Diane was a very special friend and former colleauge. She always had a smile, laugh, and willing to help me whenever I was in need. I will cherish the great times we spent together; we never said a "goodbye" without her embracing me with that smile and huge hug of hers.
While I did not know her Daughter, she always spoke fondly of you and your boys. Please know that you are in my thoughts and may the memories of your Mother bring you a little comfort.

Deepest Sympathy,

Tracy

To all Diane's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you find peace and comfort soon. Although you were my cousin April's other cousin on the other side. I still think of you as my cousin as well. We all have grown up together and we played together, so I will always have those memories. You will be truly missed at ladies night dinners. I will miss your smile and laugh. We will meet again, dear friend, save a place for us.
