MUDGE, Diane (Freel) 75, of Brookline, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Diane was born on May 4, 1941 in Brookline, MA. She attended Brookline Public Schools and lived there until the last year of her life. Diane worked as a hairstylist in her mother's salon and she was an instructor at Blaine Beauty School. Diane was happiest around family. She devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren. Diane is survived by her brother Thomas Freel of Marshfield, formerly of Brookline; her son Steven Mudge and his wife Carolyn Mudge of Marshfield; her son Fredrick Mudge and his wife Julia Pounds of Dedham; her daughter Debra Mudge and her husband Mark Aho of Worcester; and eight grandchildren, Hannah, and Griffin Mudge; Bailey, Ryan, Connor, and Dana Mudge; and Matthew and Katelyn Aho. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. There will be calling hours on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington Street, BROOKLINE. Her funeral will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Assumption, 5 Linden Street, Brookline. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers donations made to St. Mary's Building Fund, 5 Linden Pl., Brookline, MA. 02445 would be appreciated. www.bellodeafh.com
