Diane Nowinski

Diane Nowinski, a beloved member of the Pinole, CA community, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, March 31st, 2023 at the age of 60, following a very private battle with cancer.

Born in Richmond, CA to Dorothy and Clayton, Diane was the youngest of their three daughters. After graduating from Harry Ells High School in 1980, she met her future husband on the quad of Contra Costa College in 1981. Together, Diane and Matthew went on to have three children: Cristen, Adam, and Daniel.

Diane's talents were multifaceted. In addition to her exceptional crafting and sewing skills, she also had a keen interest in finance and working with the public. This led her to pursue a career in bookkeeping. After years as a stay-at-home mom, she found empty-nester joy in returning to work for more than 15 years at a tax preparation office, where she developed a reputation for her sense of humor and dedication to her clients.

Diane is survived by her loving husband Matthew, her sisters Elizabeth (Robert) McLaren and Susan (Paul) Brown, her half-sisters Gwen (Tracey) and Olivia (Drennan), and her children Cristen, Adam (Jennifer), and Daniel. She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Clayton.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that Diane passionately supported. Contributed to extensive childhood cancer and disease research, St. Jude has helped to raise the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80%, as well as advanced a host of other valuable pediatric treatments.
