Diane Smith

Diane L. Smith (née Preston), age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer on May 22, 2025, in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

She is survived by her husband Daniel Hiler and children; daughters Lianne Allen (Brad Stetzel) and Tammy Kaminski (Ted); son Jeremy Smith (David) and daughter Kimberly Kirk; grandchildren Josh Hey (Gabby), Teddy Kaminski, Nick Kaminski (Amber Rutherford), Jerod Kirk, Abby Kirk, Jennifer Ewing (Tom), Amanda Angell (Matt), Phillip Allen Jr., 11 great grandchildren,

her sister Patricia Moore (Leon); sisters-in-law Deborah Lee (Bob) and Lynda Svoboda (Duane); brother-in-law JD Smith (Brenda); as well as many special cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and lifelong friends who will continue to carry her memory forward.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Marcia Preston; loving husband David W. Smith; son-in-law Phil Allen Sr.; and sister-in-law Sandra Christie.

Diane's life was marked by a deep devotion to her family and a love for the simple joys that brought her happiness-gardening, traveling, and spending cherished time with those she loved most. Her garden was a reflection of the care she gave to everything she touched - vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. She delighted in exploring new places through travel but always found her greatest fulfillment in the company of her loving family. Her warmth and presence left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

May Diane's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on July 20, 2025, at 1:00 at Canadice Methodist Church, 5945 Canadice Hill Road, Springwater, NY 14560. A reception will follow in the church hall.
