Diane URE Obituary
On January 23, 2012, Diane Ure passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was employed by Edmonton Public Schools from 1969 to 2010 and enjoyed a rich and rewarding career as an English Language Arts teacher at a number of high schools across the city.
Diane will be lovingly missed by her husband of 44 years, Larry Ure; son and daughter-in- law, David and Elise Ure; grandchildren, Katelyn, Meaghan, and Brendan; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Lil Krawchuk; niece and husband, Leanne and Gregg Shavchook and their children Blake and Eric; brother-in-law, David G. Ure; sisters-in-law, Colleen (John) Stohlton, Patsy Darby and Jean Ure; and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Dora Krawchuk and father, Alex Krawchuk.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810 - 34 Avenue, Edmonton. Interment will be held Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery, 13951 Ellerslie Road, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (Cross Cancer Institute) #710, 10123 - 99 Street, Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1 or the MS Society of Canada, #150, 9405 - 50 Street, Edmonton, AB T6B 2T4.

Mrs. Ure was my English teacher at Vic Comp in the early 70's. Once, as an assignment, she asked us to write an essay on our definition of “success.” I have to say that I struggled with the task and knew at the time my submission was dismal. Through the years I have challenged myself with the notion of “success.” I think Mrs. Ure would be pleased to know that I finally “got it”! She inspired us to think outside the box, and as with me, left a lasting impression. My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
