Diane Van Noort Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 24, 2014.
Diane Faye VanNoort completed her life journey in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, on September 21, 2014 with her loving husband at her side.
She was born in Lansing, Illinois on Jan. 19, 1951, the daughter of Bob Anker who preceded her in death, and Marie (Botma) Anker-Kats who survives.
Diane attended Thorton Fractional South High School. Over time, she would develop a love of caring for and riding her own horse.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, niece, and friend. Diane is survived by her husband, Larry VanNoort, sons; Brigsley and Wesley (Robin), and grandchildren Collin, Andrew, and Alissa.
Diane was very proud of her dedication to numerous outreaches including a member of Calvary Church in Valparaiso and the Quad Town Safety Village of Schererville, where she was Executive Director.
Together the loving couple spent over 45 years of their lives together, 15 years of boating, traveling to countless new destinations, and appreciating all that life had given them.
Diane's husband, Larry, wishes to express his deepest and heartfelt gratitude to the "team" of friends and family whose support made it possible for Diane to remain strong through her life's journey. A celebration of her life is planned for September 28, 2014 at 4 p.m. until 8 pm. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home in Schererville, Indiana. Funeral services will follow on Monday beginning at 11:30 am with a brief time of fellowship of friends and family at 11 a.m.

Larry and family:
It's been a long time since we were together and so much has happened since then but hearing of Diane's passing made us remember the great times we had. It will be very hard for quite a while but hopefully, knowing that so many people (and old friends)are praying for you all will make it easier and give you comfort.

Dear Larry and family. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. We are sorry Diane lost her courageous battle. She was a fighter but her body was tired. She is now at peace. I enjoyed viewing all her pictures. She had a beautiful smile and always seemed happy. That is the way we will remember her. Love, Carl and Linda Stahulak

My heart is broken. It is broken for Larry, who never wavered in his love and care and was steadfast by Diane's side throughout her long illness and the long year in Pittsburgh. It is broken for her mom Marie, her fine boys, her growing grandchildren. It is broken for her friends and those she asked us to pray for. And we prayed for them all.
Diane and I were childhood friends, and five years ago we reconnected. In this past year, Diane has been in my every breath, and in my thoughts, prayer, and heart. Her faith, courage, and humor were strong and inspirational without equal. I miss her. My heart is broken for us all.

Best friend forever

Larry when I heard of Diane's passing I thought of this poem I once read.
Death of Wife Poems

"THE PASSING OF A WIFE" Author Unknown

When we take our vows and say, “until death do we part,” we are lying to ourselves. Death only brings a physical departure. A marriage and the bond between a husband and wife makes two people one. That means that even when we lose a wife, we are still left with that special love that burns inside and never dies. That internal love burns on even if our wife is no longer with us. Clinging to that love inside of us, even if it can no longer be physically expressed. That love will carry us and sustain us in her passing.

God Bless you and the VanNoort family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
