Diane Walsh Obituary
Diane was born March 15, 1961, the only child of Reino E. and Betty C. Hockert nee Shore. Baptized at Blessed Sacrament Church, Diane was raised in Portland, Oregon, attending local schools, and graduating from Washington-Monroe High School in 1979.
She married Thomas Edward Walsh on May 30, 1987 at Holy Rosary Church in Portland, Oregon. During their 35 years of marriage they lovingly raised eight children, and were overjoyed to see them grow up and carry on their legacy by beginning to build families of their own. Diane and Tom started a small family hospitality business in 2015, where she spent the past seven years sharing with customers her huge heart and unique talent for bringing strangers together around a table overflowing with delicious food and making them family.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Reino and Betty, and survived by her loving husband Tom, and children: Theresa, Andrew (Audrey), Angela, Rose, Nicholas (Brigid), Liam (Isabella), Brigid, and Patrick, and granddaughter Irene, as well as the grandchildren we all have yet to meet.
There will be a viewing accompanied by Vespers and Rosary at Holy Rosary Church in Portland, Oregon on Friday September 30, 2022 at 6:30pm. The Requiem Mass will take place at 10:30am on Saturday, October 1, 2022 also at Holy Rosary Church, followed by interment at St. Francis Cemetery in Roy, Oregon.
