Diane Walton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 28 to Dec. 29, 2011.
LAKELAND, Fla. - Our lovely mother and wife Diane Amundsen Walton peacefully passed away with all of us by her side Dec 22, 2011, due to complications from pneumonia. She was born July 10, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois.
Diane received a Bachelor of Business Administration at University of Illinois. She had her degree and was smart as a whip but chose to be a full time mother and willingly gave her life to her children. She also felt drawn to give of her time and volunteered for organizations such as Candy Stripers, Meals on Wheels, Welcome Wagon, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Diane was never without a good book to read and sat down at the piano whenever the spirit moved her. She was an avid bridge player, loved going to the movies and truly enjoyed hearing stories about her grandkids. We will miss her dearly.
Diane is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Walton; three children, Bill Walton of Dallas, Texas, Bonnie (Charles) Rice of Butler, Pa., Lynda Walton of Warrington, Pa.; seven beautiful grandkids; and two brothers William Amundsen of Hilton Head, S.C., and Richard Amundsen of Atlanta, Ga.
Her memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Dr., Lakeland, Fla., at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Diane's name be made to The Lupus Foundation of America
Condolences can be sent to the family at:
