Dianne Marsden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 13, 2007.
MARSDEN Dianne Marsden, 59, Real estate agent Diane Bedford Marsden, mother, daughter, sister, friend, left this earthly world at the age of 59 on Nov. 9, 2007, to be rejoined with her late husband and love of her life, William Terry Marsden. Friends may visit on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Ave., Boonton, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Community Church of Mountain Lakes, 48 Briarcliff Rd., followed by a celebration of her life at Il Michelangelos, 91 Elcock Ave., Boonton Township. Dianne was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Bedford and was raised in Mountain Lakes. She attended Emma Willard School and was a 1970 graduate of Skidmore College. She married Terry Marsden in June, 1970, and together they raised two wonderful children for whom she passionately cared, particularly after Terrys death in 1993. Dianne was known to work hard and play hard. She was an energetic real estate agent in Mountain Lakes for many years and a multi-year honoree of Coldwell Bankers Million Dollar Club. Together with her loving companion, Bill Anderson, she traveled to some of the most memorable places in the world. They shared a passion for skiing and the outdoors. Always generous with her time and energy, she was an active member of the local chapter of the American Association of University Women and headed up its theater club for decades. Dianne leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Vandling, and sonin-law, Chris, of Mahwah; son, Michael Marsden of Los Angeles; her parents, Nathaniel Buz and Robin Bedford of Denville; brother, Dr. Robert Bedford and sisterin-law, Faith; sister, Dorothy Bedford and brother-in-law, Rush Taggart III; sister, Bonnie Bedford Park, and brother-in-law, Peter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Bill and Jeannie Marsden of Vero Beach; sister-in-law, Barbara Marsden Stephenson, and brothers-in-law, Doug and Dennis Marsden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Morris Land Conservancy, 19 Boonton Ave., Boonton, N.J. 07005, www. morrislandconservancy.org. DEATH NOTICES

Dear Bedford family, I was saddened to hear of Diane's death, and also of Terry's death. What waves of memories came as I pictured our times together in Mountain Lakes. I can picture your lovely home on the lake. I think I am correct in remembering that Diane and I shared a birthday - 3/21/48. You must miss her terribly.
You will be in my prayers,
Laurie Hughes Leach

What I remember about Dianne is the constant smile on her face and sparkle in her eyes. She had a presence about her that caused one to take notice whenever she entered a room. Dianne talked me into running for class president, an office I would not have won without her compelling and positive energy. While saddened by her death, I am grateful for having had the opportunity to know her. She was a kind and caring soul.
