HAVERHILL — Dimitrios K. Dimakis, 80, died Friday June 20,2008 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H.
He was born in Vrontados, Chios, Greece, June 11, 1928 and had been a resident of Haverhill since 1970.
He served for five years in the Greek Navy and served for 15 years in the Greek Merchant Marines.
He was a foreman at DMI and DAVCO, and since retiring he was active in the family's restaurant businesses, Dimitrio's Pizza in Contoocook, and Weare, N.H.
He was a member of Holy Apostles Church, Saints Peter and Paul.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margie (Bougioukas) Dimakis. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Costa Dimakis and his wife, Zoi of Merrimack,N.H.; George Dimakis and his wife, Linda of Bedford, N.H., and Catherine Tsihlis and her husband, Manes of Contoocook, N.H.; one brother, Antonios Dimakis of Haverhill, seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held Tuesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. from the Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 358 Washington St. Haverhill, followed by services at the Church of the Holy Apostles, Saints Peter and Paul at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Apostles, Saints Peter and Paul, 154 Winter St., Haverhill, MA 01830.
