Fredericksburg, Texas- Dolores M. Boyd of Fredericksburg, formerly of Victoria, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025 at the age of 93.

She was born in Delleker, California to the late Lester C. Marino and Marie Ferreira Marino.

Dolores was baptized into the Catholic faith adding to the line of precipitants in the faith. Notably, Father Richard Mangini and Cardinal William Joseph Levada , who was appointed Prefect of the Doctrine of Faith by Pope Benedict XVI. These men were Dolores' first cousins. She also raised her children as Catholics.

Dolores' life took her many places begining with her birth in the Sierra Nevada mountains, her formative years and early family life in Antioch, California ( from the 1930's to 1972), a short stint in Florida during her husband's military service and finally , various ranches and homes in Texas.

Dolores married her high school sweetheart Donald W. Boyd at St Thomas Aquinas Cathedral in Reno, Nevada and celebrated 69 years of blissful marriage until Don's passing in 2022. They produced 4 children together.

Dolores was a wonderful family chef, a master gardener, a skilled tailor and a talented artist. She passed down these gifts to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to cherish her life are her four children, Michael T. Boyd (Wanda) and Christopher M. Boyd ( Michelle) , both of Victoria, Texas, Julie A. Boyd(Earl) of Fredericksburg, Texas and Michele M. Ross (Jim) of Hawaii. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua Boyd, Matthew Boyd, Jacob Boyd, Walter Woods, Joseph Ross, David Ross, Eric Ross, Felicia Boyd-Thorp, Lindsay Hawes, Ryanne Hawes, Kristina Ellis, and Jessica Ross, along with 22 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind one brother, Jack Marino and one sister Nadine Bridge, both of California.

A rosary is slated for 9:30 am on September 22, 2025, followed by Mass at 10:00am at The Holy Family of Joseph, Mary and Jesus Catholic Church, 704 Mallette Drive in Victoria, Texas. A private burial will follow.
