Dolores Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 15, 2009.
WILLIAMS, DOLORES RITA Dolores passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of July 7, 2009, with her loving husband of 58 years, "Willie", sister Jackie, and longtime family friend, Patti, at her side. Dolores was born September 21, 1931, in Washington, DC and worked as an IBM operator for a warehouse distributor within the DC metropolitan area. Marrying in July of 1951, Dolores embarked on her journey as a Navy wife, initially continuing her stay in the DC area until relocating to California in 1957, and then on to Bremerton, WA, briefly before settling in Imperial Beach, CA, in 1958. Dolores was an amazing woman, great friend, and loving wife. She enjoyed needlework, sewing and camping. Dolores is survived by her beloved husband William "Willie" Williams of Imperial Beach, son Jack L. Williams, sister Jackie Mathews of San Diego, nephews David, Guy, and Ray (Susie), and sister Harriet Breslin and niece Gail of Clearwater, FL, as well as many friends. A Memorial Service and reception to celebrate Dolores will be held at the Imperial Beach Fleet Reserve (Palm Ave. and 3rd, Imperial Beach, CA), Sunday, July 26, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Private interment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Fleet Reserve Association, or San Diego Hospice.

My heartfelt sympathies to the William's family with the passing of my Aunt Dolores. She is a very special lady in all of my life. She balanced out my rough edges and showed me a different perspective in dealing with people.Simular to my Uncle Bill perhaps.
I know she is going to a place where pain is not in their vocabulary.Thank you Uncle Bill for taking such good care of her.I will miss her deeply. All my love "Ray,Ray,Ray."
