Mr Dominic Costa Castellano

CASTELLANO, Dominic Costa, passed away August 5, 2008. He was born April 28, 1920, in Tampa. He proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II and founded Dominic' s Body Shop in 1959. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lily Estrada Castellano, his "Lady of Spain," whom he met in West Tampa. He was predeceased by his parents, Ignazio and Josephine Castellano, and his seven siblings, Al Castellano, Josephine "Pepina" Pendino, Johnny Castellano, Matilda Salemi, Joseph Castellano, Mary Longo and Paul Castellano. He is also survived by his children, Nelson D. Castellano, M.D., (Vivian), Jo Ann Crain and Maria Elena Boyett (John); nine grandchildren, Lisa Castellano-Howard, M.D., Dominic D. Crain, Christina Castellano Mesa, Nelson T. Castellano, Michael E. Crain, Lana Craddock, Tina Crain Messina, Dominic M. Castellano, M.D., and Kimberly Boyett; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; his brother-in-law, Rene Estrada (Bohemia "Kikie"); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Castellano was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church from its inception. He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Krewe of the Knights of Sant' Yago and Elks Lodge 708, and was the epitome of a family man. He loved his wife and family dearly, never tired of spending time with his family, playing cards and, traveling and was a constant gardener of his South Tampa home. He will be remembered as the kindest of hearts, the hardest of workers, generous of nature, for his staunch support and love of family, being the life of the party, pursuing fun, happiness and all the joys life had to offer.
