Grace, Peter and all the family,
I am so sorry for your loss and the heartache you are experiencing. Dominic was my friend and barber (I always called him my "barber" to keep him grounded!), for 33 years. That's a lot of shared stories, including our last where I shared the story of my Dad's recent death.
With Halloween upon us, I have fond memories of him cutting my hair dressed as "Father Musini" and Elvis back in the New Britain shop. In 1984, I showed up in my Philadelphia collar not long after a bad car accident with scars on my face and a gash in my head. "What the hell happened to you?!" he announced when I came in the shop. He said he was affraid to touch me cause he thought I might "break". But he did and I was quickly transformed into best coiffed guy in the rehab unit.
Dominic, I will miss you. I'm glad I got to see you in the hospital and finally meet your beloved, Grace. Thank you for so many years of making me look my best and being a fun pal.

Grace & family: Our condolences to you and your family. I have lost a friend and a world class stylist as well as a top-notch vocalist. We enjoyed talking about his water garden and how fustrated he was with the birds stealing his fish. He also took pride in his wood working projects at home. I saw him last on August 25 and he was enthused that the new medication was working and that each day he was getting stronger. Rita and I were shocked when we heard of his passing. Again our deepest sympathie to you and your family may God give you the strengh to continue on.

Grace and family,
A brilliant voice has been stilled much too soon. Heaven will now enjoy the wonderful voice we have lost. Dominic was a sensitive man who brought out his feelings so well in song. His love of singing gave him the ability to persevere over his suffering. We will never forget him and the joy he brought to our lives.

My love and Prayers, always to the Gulli family. I remember the first time I heard Dominic sing, it was at the Italian Festival in North Haven, and from then on..my friends and I were hooked..followed him to Cuginos in Cheshire, New Britain Italian American Club, West Haven Italian American Club, La Luna's in Branford. Then I started taking my friend to the salon so Dom could cut her hair. I started meeting the family slowly and the love for one man, extended to his wife, and family. Dominic will truly live in my heart. I will hear his music always. I just wish, I had thought of the T-shirts earlier. I remember the surprised/excited look on his face, when he saw the shirts. I will miss him dearly..My Dominiooch (Italian Blue Eyes). **I also wrote a little poem for him these past couple of days. Would love to share it with the family. If you would like to read it, please contact me at [email protected] the subject "Dominic" so I will open it**

I got my first cut from Dom in 1975 on East Street, and every 3 – 4 weeks since. By my calculations, that’s 623 cuts; and at 20 minutes each, works out to 207 hours in the chair with him. He cut my hair before I got married, before my kid’s Christenings, before each important business meeting that I attended, and most recently, before my 4th grandson’s first birthday party. He was a part of almost every big event in my life. When you spend that much time, over a long period of time with someone, you get to know them. Dom was a great family man and extremely proud of his sons. He even confided in me that he thought Peter was a better stylist than he was. I strongly disagreed. Dom has been a big part of my life and I’ll miss him very much. He was a true gentleman. I offer my sincere condolences to all of his family.

To the entire Gulli Family, please accept my heartfelt condolences over the loss of Dominic. I knew Dominic and the guys when they opened the shop on East Street in my Uncle Joe's old store. I recently had the pleasure of reconnecting with him at the shop and was able to introduce my now grown boys to one of the best there was. I know he's resting in peace.

Dear Peter & Family,
Your Dad was a remarkable, courageous, gentle man even in his final days at the salon. The memory I will cherish the most is him teasing me into speaking Italian only to get the biggest kick out of correcting my Italian slang with his command of the language. Not only was I honored to have The World's Champion cutting my hair, I was also honored to call him my friend.

To Peter & Family,
Wishing you strength, peace, comfort, and love...whichever you need the most during this difficult time. For the past 10+ years I was inspired by your father's commitment to his family and friends. He would often tell me how lucky he was to be able to "do what he loved" which was cutting hair and performing his music. There was never a dull moment at the salon - over the years I've shared many laughs and even a few tears with Dominic. A great role model and a great friend - such a gentle soul - he will be greatly missed always.

When a person we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
Dom was such a wonderful, kind and beautiful person who was proud of who he was, where he came from and what he had. He was always in a joyful mood whenever I saw him, and had a way of listening and making me feel comfortable whenever he cut my hair. I regret that it has been several years since I saw Dom, but my mother was always telling about her monthly visits to his shop.
My memories of him are as a vibrant, caring person and he will be missed by many. My condolances to his family and many friends.

Dominic was a great man with many endearing qualities. For starters, he was an amazing friend. Secondly a great boss. Actually, Dom hated when we referred to him as our boss. He prefered "friend" We've got to know Dom for over 5 years now. We spent more time with him than our own families. We definitley know each other in and out, and all of our goals. Dom's goal was accomplished with Mr. Joesphs Hair Studio being successful for over 30 years. Dominic's salon was always a place where everyone felt welcome.Whether your having a service done or just stopping by for an expresso. He truly taught everyone he's passed in life, the value of hardwork and success. He will truly be missed

Dear Grace,
My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your dear husband.I never had the good fortune of meeting Dominic, but I'm sure he was a lovely man. You probably don't remember me, but I remember you with much fondness as you came all the way to my home in Windsor to help me with decorating my living room when you worked for Kensington Furniture. You turned a very daunting task into a very pleasant experience for me. The results were very beautiful.

Dominic made each song come alive & brought joy to everyone who listened. People danced, people sang.... people even whistled and yelled. The tight pants, the zippered shirts, one hand waving in the air and one hand with mic in hand, he made people feel good. He made us feel good.
We will miss his smile, his laugh, the little jokes between band brothers, his 'Elvis', his dancing, and especially his presence.
