ANDOVER — Dominic B. Valenti, 89, a resident of Andover, died on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008 at Wingate at Andover.

Born in Lawrence on Feb. 3, 1919, he was the son of the late Dominic and Maria (Nicolosi) Valenti. He moved with his family to Brooklyn, N.Y. where he attended elementary and high school. He later returned to Lawrence where he was employed as a cloth cutter for Papparella Brothers, Bronzetti Clothing and Polo Clothing in Lawrence. Upon his retirement he became a consultant for the Hickey-Freeman Company in Rochester, NY.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and The Holy Name Society. He had a passion for photography and antique carnival glass. He was an avid golfer and a member for many years at Merrimack Golf Course in Methuen. He was devoted to his family and spent endless hours with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dominic is predeceased by his late wife, Lillian DeCaro Valenti, to whom he was married for 68 years. He is survived by daughter, Marie and husband Atty. Samuel J. Concemi of Andover; grandchildren, Anne Marie Concemi and spouse Whitney of Andover, Lisa (Concemi) Truchon and husband Mark of Methuen, Celeste (Concemi) Steffenson and husband Mark of Andover, Christopher Concemi and wife Diane of North Andover; great grandchildren, Dominic and Gianna Truchon, Madeline and Cora Steffenson, Samuel Stewart Concemi and Ava Concemi. He is also survived by a daughter, Elaine, wife of Peter Pelletier of Dracut and their two children, Marie and Dominic Pelletier.

The Concemi family wishes to thank the entire staff at Wingate at Andover nursing facility for the wonderful kindness and care given to Dominic.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 29 at 10:30 a.m., at Corpus Christi Parish in Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Marie & Elaine: Both Dom & Lillian were my godparents and also lifelong friends to my parents, Sally & Busty Brancato. I recall much laughter when our families got together. I know you have many fond memories to comfort you.
