Dominique TRIVISONNO Obituary

Published by Monteal Gazette from Oct. 27 to Oct. 31, 2012.
TRIVISONNO, Dominique
May 3, 1924 - September 19, 2012
Passed away suddenly on September 19, 2012 in Montreal. Predeceased by his first wife, Mary Monaco, and his second wife Pierrette Nicolas. Dearest father of Joe (Sheila Melnechuk) and Gina (Jocelyn Gamache). Grandfather of Christopher. Predeceased by his brother Tony (Carmen) and uncle to John (Betty). Stepfather of Gaud, and Janine (Phil Martin). His brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces from the Monaco family, as well his many friends, will also miss him. Dom was born in Ripabottoni, Campobasso, Italy, then raised and educated in Montreal. He retired from Canadair (Bombardier) in 1984 after 36 years of service. He will be remembered for his deep faith, his devotion to his church, and his love of all things Italian, especially the cuisine and the opera. His great passion for music led him to be a founding member of l'Ensemble Philharmonique de Montréal- Nord, now l'Orchestre d'Harmonie Leonardo Da Vinci. His fondness for joke telling brought chuckles to many, and all who knew him will sorely miss his infectious smile. Visitation will take place at Complexe St-François D'Assise (Urgel Bourgie), 6700 Beaubien, from 2-5 p.m, and 7-10 p.m on Friday, November 2nd. No flowers please, but donations may be made in his memory to The Italian United Church of the Redeemer, 6980 Papineau, Montreal H2E 2G5. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3rd , 2:00 p.m., at the aforementioned church.
Burial will be private.

My sincere condolences to all of Dominique's family. In the few times I had the pleasure of meeting Dominique I was greeted by a warm-hearted, kind and funny gent. He'll be sadly missed - both sides of the Atlantic.

When Dominique retired, we lost a great team member and our best source of jokes at Canadair-now Bombardier. However, every problem has a solution, and Dom solved this problem by inviting, Jean Loiselle, Steve MacLellan, Rosy Rozental and myself-Bernard Brawman to what turned out to be an Italian feast-during lunch time and mainly as it turned out on company time as lunch hour stretched to more like lunch 3 hours!! We would roll out of his house with much larger waist sizes. Dom was always a great host and these "lunches" became a tradition. We had it great, his company, jokes and a feast as well!! We will all miss all those great times.

We miss "Amore" so much...his sense of humour (who can forget the famous chicken joke?), his love of cooking (he made such perfect Italian cuisine), his talent for music (opera anyone?)but most of all we will miss his kindess and spirit. Thank you Amore for sharing your compassion and caring with all your "adopted" children. We will think of you everyday. Gine and Joe we are thinking of you and remembering your wonderful father with love.

Dear Gina, Joe and family,

Memories, to many to tell in just a few sentences. Dominique and Dad were friends forever and are now together sharing a great meal, jokes and stories of old times. It was always so interesting to listen to them both.
Your Dad's devotion to his garden, music ,food and especially to the church was a great inspiration. He always managed his time to be available for everyone ! He would even have Cristina, my daughter, go over to pick up blackberries.
"Thank you Dominique and may you rest in Peace "
Our Prayers are with you all.

I remember him fondly from our days at Canadair. Always happy and a love for life that made ours worthwhile. I'm better for having known "the Chouch" as he often called us from a younger generation.
