Don Donovan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 6, 2008.
DON DONOVAN 1956 - 2008 It is with great sorrow that the Ogilvy Management and Personnel announce the passing of their dear colleague and friend, Don Donovan, Director of Special Events, on April 30, 2008. Don was proud to be part of Ogilvy for over twenty-five years, and with his passing, a part of our history leaves with him. As per his wishes there will be no funeral service. His ashes will rest in his hometown of Ingonish, Nova Scotia. In remembrance, a book of condolences will be available for signing on May 7 and 8 at Ogilvy, 5th floor during store hours. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. 1307 Ste. Catherine St. West

Peggy and I shared many a happy time for years with Don while we lived in Montreal. He was a dear friend and we will miss him deeply. He was such a large part of Ogilvy's and our yearly visit now will not be the same as Don was always part of our trip. Rest in peace Don. Arnold

For six years Don always greated me with a cheerful "good morning Daria how are you today" and was always there to help with a problem. He was a really good guy. You'll be missed Don.

Don,
Your smile, your laugh, your heart, your genuine sense of concern, your kindness, you being you....will be sadly missed.

When we first met in Montreal in 1983, you suggested I apply at Ogilvy, and the rest was history.

Our buying trips to Europe, birthday, halloween gatherings, living next door, dinner parties with friends and family.....and so on....

Thanks for sharing all of the memories, I will remember you forever...
Say hi to Brian, Claude and Hugh for me...
My sympathies to your families during this difficult time.

Love you and miss you

I was so sad to hear of Don's passing. I knew Don ever since he joined Ogilvy's. He was always a pleasure to deal with, a smart, kind, and gentle human being, with a wonderful sense of humour. He will be sorely missed.

I am saddend by Mr Donovan's passing away. I became acquainted with Mr Donovan through my association with the annual Salon of the SCA. I have offered demonstrations since 1999. A few years ago I decided to demo Ogilvy store as a watercolour. I invited Mr Donovan to see the resulting painting which eventually ended in management office through his intervention. I always remember Don as a smiling unpretentious, helpful and kind person who took the time to listen to me and I am sure all others he delt with.
