Nancy and Nicole, my thoughts and prayers are with you both during this time. May you find comfort in knowing he is at peace in heaven and watching over you. This is going back some years, but my best memories of Don were the times our families went to the Scottish fairs. I can still picture the excitement on Don's face when arriving there, he loved it! He'll be greatly missed.

To the family of Don:
I came on the PD in 1965, Don after me. He was one of the nicest cops I knew, and one I respected.
Can't believe he has left our ranks, so young.
God bless all of you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Don was one of those really good people that rarely come along. He lived his passions and had many. From horses, to Alaska, to his political views and his love for the historical aspect of the United States which he read about and spoke about with his many friends. He couldn't do enough for you. Always wanting to help out.
Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I had the pleasure of working with Don at CCPO. I loved hearing his stories about his beautiful family and his visits to Alaska which always included a tidbit about Sara Palin(sp). I can still see the smile on his face when the VW was delivered from Alaska in our work parking lot. He was one of a kind.

When I think of Don I think of how he loved horses. He had the greatest sense of humor and I missed him when he retired. I am glad I got to spend time with him and Nancy the night before he passed and got to say goodbye to him.

Don was a pleasant soul. If my memory serves me correctly, he asked me to put together his sail ship, the yacht America. After doing so, he presented me with a framed photo. If not, he is still a great guy to remember.

Don and I were partners in K9 for several years, he showed me pictures of his wife Nancy doing barrel racing on her horse. He truly loved his family, a lot was shared between us on those long nights on patrol-as both of us were prior Navy. I hope and pray for the good Lord to give him and his wife and family Pease. Another brother in blue is taken from us.

My heart is broken but I'm filled with fond memories of a wonderful man who always had a story (or two) to share about the history of the Mayo clinic, Alaska, horses, planes, WWII and the oldies songs.
He always had a smile on his face and a song (rock and roll oldie) in his heart!
I will miss this guy!
Hope you rest in peace, dear friend!
