Don Malgesini

Don Malgesini of Snohomish passed away on December 20, 2013. Don was born on February 17, 1931 in Rigoletto, Italy and moved to Snohomish, WA with his family when he was seven years old. Don grew up on the family dairy farm and went to Snohomish schools. Don excelled in sports, particularly football and basketball. In 1954, Don married Peggy Storwick. They raised their six kids on a small dairy farm, where they worked cattle and grew hay. Don worked for General Telephone for 33 years and after retiring in 1992, he continued farming, but spent most of his time dancing. Even with his health declining, he still wanted to farm and dance. Don was preceded in death by Peggy, their daughter Kathy, and his brothers Frank, John and Lino as well as his best friend and dancing partner, Lisa Thacker. Don is survived by his sisters, Marie Woodward, Lilly (Dean) Mitchell; brother, Erasmo; sons, John (Pat), Don (Patty) Tony (Wendy); daughters, Joan (Cliff) MacDicken, and Sharon (Jim) Donaldson. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Cross View Church in Snohomish on January 11th at 11:00am with a reception following immediately afterward.
