Don C. Patterson

Don Patterson also known as " Big Don" and "Don da Wan" by family and friends was born on August 23, 1958, in Gary, Indiana to the proud parents of Roosevelt Patterson and Armelia "White" Patterson who preceded him in death. Don was a diamond and jewel that God put here for us to have. He believed in peace and had love for all who he made contact with and was a person who loved to talk about his love for cars. Don could tell you the make, year, model of any car or truck and the year they were made. He loved his blues music and loved to watch westerns all day. Again, he could tell you about every blues song and artist and any western movie and the actors. He was a joy to just sit and talk with, as long as you had his all time favorite, which was some sort of chocolate on hand. So, if you were graced to be in his presence, consider yourself as blessed because he would leave you with a smile on your face. Don will be missed dearly and that side grin that he had when you asked for a handshake, hug or kiss, would make you melt. His face was always lit up when he was around people. He never left home without his hat or watch because he loved to make sure that he asked you if you liked them because he was all about fashion. He will be truly missed.

He was proceeded in death by both parents; Roosevelt Patterson and Armelia "White" Patterson, Grandparents; Ed White Sr. and Anna Bell Stringfellow, Uncles; Ed White Sr., James Walls and Robert Walls, Special Niece; Annetta Jeanne Harris; Two brothers; Larry Patterson and Paul Patterson; and one sister; Johnnie B. (Patterson) Martin. He is survived by 1 brother; Carl Patterson and 2 sisters Delores (Patterson) Mosley and Eleathia Patterson . He also leaves behind a host of friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins whom he loved.
