Donald F. Bouchard, 81, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, growing up in New London, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Manchester Manor surrounded by his loving family. Born April 16, 1932 in St. Albans, VT, he was a son to the late Leo and Hortense (LaDue) Bouchard. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a produce manager for 20 years at the Manchester Stop & Shop retiring in 1985, and also owned and operated a produce market for Lake Park Farmer's Market in Lake Park, FL. He enjoyed camping, coin collecting and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters Michelle and her husband, Sal DiMauro of South Windsor, Rene and her husband, Larry Zarrella of Plainville, Denise and her husband, Mike Karoyli of Unionville, and MaryLou Intravia of Farmington; 9 grandchildren Joseph, Meghan, Chelsea DiMauro; Amie and Stephanie Zarrella and Danielle Zarrella Lenois and her husband, James Lenois; Mikey Karoyli; Paul Intravia and Kathleen Kocatas; and 3 great-grandchildren Madison Franco and Alexa and Ella Lenois. He also leaves his brothers Gerald of St. Albans, VT, Kenneth of Boston, MA and Richard of New London; sister Nancy of Old Lyme; and several nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother James Bouchard; sister Shirley Vendetta and brother-in-law Ron. Calling hours for Don will be held from 9:00–10:15AM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00AM from St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor. Burial with military honors will conclude in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made in Don's name to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. – I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
